Dance Energy & Music TV

I worked as assistant designer for The Tube, music show with Jools Holland, Paula Yates and Stephen Fry in Newcastle for  Tyne Tees TV, 1982.

During the eighties I art directed rock promos for many bands including Frankie Goes to Hollywood , Tina Turner, Meatloaf, Simply Red  (Something  got me Started) , Echo and the Bunnymen  (Lips like Sugar) and  , Elton John, UB40, Thompson Twins  and , Marc Almond, directed by Pierre and Gilles, Bronski Beat   (Small Time Boy) 16 mm. 1984, and  (Tell me Why) , Linton Kwesi Johnson, MTV and others...

Dance Energy with Normski, produced by Janet Street Porter for BBC2 Youth Culture, used revolving metallic logos, fluroescent paint  and  three metre high sculptural set pieces shown here, 1980s.
